Nanotechnology
The Equator system is used for targeted deposition of carbon nanotube networks onto substrates. spot-on technology allows for non-contact, on demand deposition with excellent xyz precision and accuracy of nano-volume droplets which is particular suited for deposition of nanotube networks. It was demonstrated that multiple networks can be deposited onto electrodes at specific positions. Subsequent electrical probing showed that (nanotube) network characteristics with either metallic or semi-conducting characteristics were fabricated.
It is expected this approach could form the basis for flexible processing as multiple nanotube networks with either metallic or transistor characteristics can be deposited in any given arrangement on substrates, offering great processing flexibility.

The potential of novel nanomaterials such as carbon nanotubes and nanowires is enormous. In particular, carbon nanotubes are under active investigation due to their phenomenal physical properties. For example they can act as semiconductors in device applications or spun into tough materials.
